Entry requirements
No prior beauty qualification is needed. Learners must have good spoken and written English, at Functional Skills level or equivalent. English skills help you understand the learning materials, communicate with clients and complete your assessment work. Speak to the academy about any learning support you need before enrolling.
What to check in the course specification
Check the exact VTCT qualification title and the units included in your chosen course. Ask about consultation, hygiene, preparation, facial skincare, waxing, nail services and any other treatments you want to study. Different qualification routes can include different combinations of units.
Practical learning and assessment
Plan for taught sessions, supervised practical work and independent study. Ask how practical assessments and written work are organised, whether models or materials are provided, and what happens if you need more practice or a reassessment. A shorter timetable does not remove the requirement to demonstrate the assessed skills.
