Who is this qualification for?
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is designed for those interested in a teaching career in further education. This could be a trainer in the private training sector or a teacher in further education. The course covers the generic teaching skills required to become an effective teacher.
This qualification replaces the PTTLS qualification and certifies people to teach at a nationally accredited standard.
What does this qualification cover?
This qualification provides a sound introduction to teaching/training and is suitable for both experienced practitioners who would like to secure a professionally recognised qualification as well as those new to teaching.
During this qualification, you will cover the following units:
Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
The aim of this unit is to enable you to understand the role and responsibilities of a teacher in education and training and the relationship between different professionals within education and training.
Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training
The aim of this unit is to enable you to understand and use inclusive teaching and learning approaches to meet the needs of learners. This includes how to create a learning environment that engages and motivates learners, and the planning, delivery and evaluation of inclusive teaching and learning. You are required to deliver a microteaching session and to evaluate your own delivery practice.
Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training
The aim of this unit is to enable you to understand how different types and methods of assessment are used in education and training. This includes ways to involve learners in assessment and requirements for record keeping.
